Design Through Time by Jostar Interiors - 1860s Interior Design Influence

An important fact about Jostar is that loves to be apart of Edmonton's community, so when Edmonton Economic Development announced that they will be hosting the first ever Edmonton Design Week, it was important for Jostar to be apart of it. Our team took on Design Through Time, an installation which showcase interior design through 5 decades of design, specific to different rooms within the home.

Canada is born, yes! Let’s start this installation in 1867. The outhouse was made from extended Jostar family made with reclaimed wood and lots of blood, sweat and tears!

Next was 1920’s black and white kitchen inspired by the art deco/art nouveau design era. The kitchen was actually full of furniture from the 1900s!  (Below.)

A 1950s living room was the next stop. Sit back and relax in the “original” mid century modern sofa and chairs, with a glass of champagne and some great tunes on the record player!

Feeling a little tired from all the twist and shouts?! Come on over to our 1970’s bedroom and take a load off. The room was designed with original 70’s oak furniture, avocado green colors and of course SHAG!

Last but not least, enjoy our spa-like 2017 bathroom. This contemporary bathroom was the epitomy of 2017 and the final walk through of our design through time installation. Enjoy!
